Minerals are naturally sweatproof & humidity proof. The newest formulas on the market do not settle into fine lines, and make imperfections look minimal. I had a client once who had what I considered to be severe melasma. With mineral foundation, I was able to cover every last imperfection on her skin, with only one product. She had years to see her face one color, and could not stop staring at herself in the mirror from her excitement. So, you can go from a sheer to medium coverage by buffing into your skin layers of mineral makeup & still looking natural. I like to buff from the outside of the face towards the middle. It looks more natural this way.

Try:
Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation
Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Powder Foundation
*Also look for mineral cheek colors for greater staying power!

Creaseless eye shadow all day long!

Creaseless eye shadow all day long!
Trick of the Trade:

Apply and eye shadow primer to the eye lid.

Foundation, concealer, & powder to set.

Apply a creamy eye color, and lock it in with your powder shadows.

This keeps it in place until you take it all off!

Try:
Benefit F.Y. If I am in a hurry, I can get my full makeup on in about 5 minutes (when I am not rushed, I do it in about 20 minutes)

You need to start with moisturizer. I prefer something with at least SPF 15, so that you are getting sun protection, and preventing damage to your skin.

You want to start with my foundation. I like a wet makeup sponge because foundation glides on smoothly & becomes more blendable.

Next is concealer. You will want to use the back of your hand as a palette. If you warm it up a little w your finger, it will allow it to go on smoother. You want to start with a little so you can add, and using your ring finger, pat it into the dark areas beneath your eyes, and any other area that you feel needs a little extra coverage. Then, take your cosmetic sponge, which already has foundation on it, and just pat it over your newly concealed areas – this will ensure you that your concealer & foundation have blended into each other.

Then you want to take a large powder brush, dip it into your loose powder, swirl it around in the cap of the jar, and dust your face in a downward motion.

Next is of course blush. Take a blush brush, which is smaller than a powder brush, and dip into your blush color. When working with color, you always want to remove any excess. You can tap it onto the back of your hand, or use a tissue to rid the excess (otherwise, you will look like Raggedy Ann!) Smile! Swirl your blush onto the apples of your cheeks & and blend it with your powder brush (making the same swirls). This will blend the blush, so that it does not look streaky.

Now you want to dip into your eye shadow palette. Everyone should have a neutral palette with three colors. You need a highlighter for application on the lid & on the brow bone. The second should be a midtone, which should be a matte soft brown color that you will apply in your crease to create depth. The third color is your accent color. For day, I use it as eyeliner, and apply it along my upper & lower lashes. Curl your lashes & apply mascara.

And now for your lips! You want to line your lips with a liner that is close to your own lip color, and then fill them in lightly. If you are going for that neutral look, then choose a lip color that is a little darker or brighter than your lips. After you apply your lip color, go for a nice sheer gloss.

And WALA!!!! You’re done!!!
